ALSO APPEARS THERE ARE SOME COUNCIL MEMBERS THAT NEED TO GO. THEY ARE NOT FOR THE PEOPLE THAT PAY THEM. CALL THEM ALL DAY AND NIGHT LET THEM KNOW YOU DO NOT WANT THE SMOKING LAW.

Yes, you should be so proud of yourselves by promoting child abuse. The parents are more important than the children that have no rights. Why would you want a law that would protect the childrens health from their stupid parents. Lets keep the kids trapped in an enclosed area full of smoke so they can develope asthma and other more serious breathing problems earlier. I'm sure the doctors, hostpitals, drug companies and funeral homes will thank you for sending them more business.

Perhaps you should have showed up and spoke your peace and maybe the council would have considered your point of view. 

We have a child protection service to protect the rights of the children.  Sometimes there is a fine line between the helping government and overstepping boundries.   

I am not a smoker, and I grew up with a mother who smoked in the car.  Did I like it?  Do I like it?  Hell no, but my goodness, we have got to draw the line somewhere with government intervention. 

If you see a child being abused, call the child protection services, and report it.  That is what they are there for.

As stated when government elected officials dictate what we do in all aspects of our lives we become puppets and dummies.

Children are the most important things in life. But if you are so dumb that you must be informed how and when to take care of them, then do not have them! One hour maybe in the car and a life time in the home with smoke. Do you need some one to tell how to raise your children and what you can and can not eat because it is unhealthy? Or come in your home and say it is time for you and the children to go to bed or cite you because you went out and the children were not with you. Or you let them outside and they got hurt or lost. Or you can not take your children to visit your relative because they smoke. You can not leave your children you must take them everywhere you except work.  People are going to smoke, drink, and over eat , all this is  unhealthy. Where does it stop.

Fact is there is something you can find unhealthy and wrong every second of the day, where does it stop? There is a state wide smoking ban and that is not working why would anyone think a city one would be different. Citizen have a right to decide.

Why would you not understand that if they pick everything for you, then where does that leave you and then who are you???
